What began as an alliance between a teacher and student in search of belonging and grown into a national movement led by GLSEN—a national non-profit we’re proud to support. Comprised of more than 1.5 million people, the organization is comprised of students, educators, education activists and families working together to create safer learning environments for K-12 LGBTQIA+ students. This requires a future-minded, multi-faceted approach and is accomplished through evidence-based initiatives pioneered by the organization’s diverse support base.
With 43 chapters across 30 states, GLSEN has the regional presence needed to conduct broad research that lends meaningful insight into the LGBTQIA+ youth population as a whole. This high-level perspective lays the foundation for every organizational initiative, including but not limited to informing comprehensive legislation and creating developmentally-appropriate resources for schools to leverage as they strive to create safer and more inclusive learning environments for their students.
At Quay, we may have a passion for fashion but our heart for people and desire to support the disenfranchised is our driving force. We believe in GLSEN’s good work, which is why we joined forces to further their pure-hearted efforts. One of the ways we supported their mission was by creating a Pride-themed collection of frames, each uniquely fabulous in its own way, and since launching our Pride collection in June 2022 with 100% of proceeds going back to GLSEN, we’ve contributed €100,000 to benefit LGBTQIA+ youth, thanks to the support of our amazing Quay community!
We also created a Pride Committee to educate our team on how to be part of the solution individually and in their communities. This looks creating a safe space for people to bring and voice their authentic selves, as well as collaborate on ways to invest in supporting our local LGBTQIA+ youth community.
There are a variety of ways you can join the movement alongside us, and we encourage you to do so:
It’s never too late to make a difference, but it takes all of us to do so. Here’s to creating a safer, more inclusive educational experience for K-12 LGBTQIA+ students.

If you love vibrant festi hues, you’ll love all the colors at this beach. In the earlier part of the 20th century, people would toss rocks into the California coastline. Over time, smoothed glass fragments washed ashore at Glass Beach near Fort Bragg, CA. As a result, a head-turning collage of colors surfaced to form one of the most unique beaches in California.
When you step foot on Elafonissi Beach in Crete, you'll be taken by its pink sand, gorgeous wildflowers, and warm waters. The island is separated from the southwest coast of Crete by a sandbar and a lagoon full of loggerhead sea turtles. Sit back and sunbathe, or enjoy the fresh breeze with a windsurfing sesh.
South Padre Island is the perfect spot for turning it up with your homies. This warm barrier island on the Gulf Coast of Texas is the go-to spot for lush views and great food. It’s also known for its nightlife scene, but you can also enjoy more low-key activities such as sunbathing, fishing, and jet skiing to raise your vibe.
Make it a good time with the warm golden sands at Isla Verde Beach, a relaxing resort strip right next to a busy metro area. It’s called the “Green Island” for a reason — soak in the tropical vibes with sprawling views of palm trees. Make the most of the day with banana boat riding and jet skiing, then treat yoself to seafront dining and a vibrant nightlife.
Wherever you’re taking a seaside vacay at the world’s most famous beach or enjoying local oceanside views, chase sunsets with QUAY polarized sunglasses.

What are polarized sunglasses? Most sunglasses help tone down brightness, offering protection against UV rays. But there's one major factor that not all shades can take on: glare. When you look at highly reflective flat surfaces like water, snow, or the open road, the light bouncing off them can be intense. Enter polarized sunglasses, which can help minimize the look of glare.
WHAT DOES POLARIZED MEAN?Light from the sun starts out unpolarized, which means it moves in random directions. When sunlight strikes a horizontal surface such as a lake, it reflects in a mostly horizontal direction and produces glare. Polarized shades have a special chemical applied to them that blocks light waves from horizontal surfaces, thus minimizing glare and reducing any eye discomfort related to it. Here’s another way of thinking about how polarized sunglasses work: When you close window blinds on a sunny day, you limit the amount of light entering a room. Polarized shades work similarly by providing a filter to limit what’s reflected into your eyes.
If you’re wondering how to check for polarized sunglasses, no worries. All you need are your sunglasses and a computer screen, as LCD monitors are also polarized to prevent glare. Turn on your computer and crank it up to its brightest setting. Then, take out your shades and tilt them at a 60-degree angle. If the lenses darken or black out, you've got polarized sunglasses, as the anti-glare properties in your lenses and the computer screen will cancel each other out.
What is the function of polarized glasses? Polarized lenses offer many benefits, so the hype is legit. First off, they cut out glare, so they’re great vacay staples for enjoying those sunny days at the beach or resort. But they're also great for daily wear, helping block out harsh light during everyday errands. Whether you're lounging in the sand or grinding through your daily hustle, these help with glare distortion when the sun is especially strong. Polarized sunglasses can also reduce glare from water and snow, so they’re great for sports such as boating and snowboarding.
Which brings us to point two: increased clarity. By dialing down the brightness, polarized sunglasses can help amp up visual contrast, allow for truer color perception, and make objects appear clearer. Which can also mean that you may not have to squint as much in bright conditions. Invest in polarized sunglasses to keep glare in check and max out visibility — they’re definitely worth the hype.
CONS OF POLARIZED SUNGLASSESWhile we love polarized sunglasses, sometimes the occasion doesn't call for them. As we've mentioned earlier, they share similar anti-glare properties with LCD screens. One major drawback is that they can make it difficult to see these screens. You'll want to take off your polarized sunglasses during those IG phone scrolls and computer sessions — not that you're likely wearing them during those times anyway.
However, you may be reaching for sunglasses when you drive. These special lenses can be problematic when you hit the road. Many cars, for example, have LCD screens for navigation. If you use these screens, keep in mind that they can look distorted and darkened through polarized sunglasses. And there’s such a thing as being too shady: during low-light driving conditions, these shades can block out too much light. Though you might not grab your sunglasses while driving at night, keep this in mind when you hit the road. Of course, don't hesitate to consult your eye professional about what's best for your vision.
Our polarized sunglasses come in a range of OG faves. Whatever your vibe, make it polarized — here are on-trend polarized shades to add to your eyewear rotation.
Get ready for a VIBE CHECK. This scaled-down frame offers an effortlessly chic look with its small size. For all-day comfort and a flawless fit, it also comes with built-in nose pads. Flex these square shades with your favorite two-piece at the beach or sleek athleisure for your post-gym juice run.
NARROW DOWN your style with all-eyes-on-you cat eyes. This boxy cat-eye frame will add a pop to any ‘fit, and you can grab the frame in a classically cool black or retro white. It’s the perfect statement accessory, no matter if you’re flaunting a fierce red dress or all-black ensemble.
Get HIGH KEY fly in timeless aviators. Along with polarized sunglasses for all the bright times, this cult-fave unisex frame also features flat lenses, signature triangle notches, and sleek metal arms. You can wear these fly AF aviators to festivals, hikes, and even your daily commute. Whether you’re in your everyday office attire or the hottest streetwear ‘fits, toss them on for a bold look.

Q: Why is educating yourself about history crucial in evolving as a community?
M: With Juneteenth, I think it's important to understand the scope of hundreds of years of enslavement. Research [Juneteenth] and know that we still live in a nation that hasn't come to terms with its truth. We have obligations as human beings to acknowledge that truth.
JAMES DAVIS
QUAY DISTRICT MANAGER
Q: As we honor + celebrate Juneteenth, what is one way you think individuals can do to practice allyship?
J: To put it simply, listen. Listen to all of those around you and genuinely hear and try to empathize with their experiences. We’ve all come from different paths, and it doesn’t cost you anything to hear someone out and take a moment to attempt to place yourself in their shoes.
MUNROE BERGDORF
ACTIVIST + MODEL
Q: June marks the celebration of International Pride Month + Juneteenth. Being that you identify as both gender queer and Black—for you, how are these two moments inherently intertwined?
M: Juneteenth is a holiday to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States, but the fact that it also takes place during Pride Month is a poignant reminder of the multi-layered complexities of existing as a queer Black person. Not only do we face queerphobia, but also systemic racism in the form of anti-Blackness.
LOVE IS QUAY
The only way to fight racism is to be actively anti-racist—educate yourself, speak up, donate, take action. There is no neutral position on racism.

Our 12 winners wrote an essay on how the money would help fuel (and further) their education. Then semi-finalists were asked to create a video on what self-expression means to them. Meet our scholars and see some of what they had to say:
The ability to express myself has allowed me to cultivate this experience and transform into the confident warrior that I am today.
I would use this scholarship towards gaining additional knowledge and experience aimed at advancing healthcare accessibility and quality of care through courses at my university as I complete my biochemistry degree.
self-expression is key to my well-being. It's the way I tell the story of who I am, how I feel and what I believe.
I aspire to earn my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Neuroscience and earn my Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Social Psychology before I turn 26. I yearn to investigate how group behavior and human cognition influence public policy.
Self-expression is like the soul's fingerprint. It is in the way that we speak, the way that we dress, it is even in the way that we move.
FEBIE L.
Anyone who is willing to dedicate their life to nurturing another life should have every opportunity to do so. I wish to educate myself on assisted reproductive technologies that help couples overcome infertility.
Possessing a selfless attitude, good problem-solving skills, good communication skills, and commitment to patient advocacy are all the things that have led me to choose nursing.
One day, I stared at myself in the mirror, told myself I was enough, and burst into tears. I am my own person. I am valid... I’m loving myself, living in the moment, and embracing love and support from people who offer it.
I plan to someday go beyond advocating, learning, and researching; I’m determined to become a clinical psychologist who provides direct support to individuals who struggle with mental health issues.
I believe that people shouldn't have to hide themselves to blend in with the crowd. I finally gained the confidence to not let the opinions of others stop me from expressing myself.
My self-expression is constructed by little dots of my cultural experiences that have created the person that I am today.
I will graduate with my Bachelors at the age of 19 due to my persistence in high school and I have begun my Master’s degree program. I also started a company named “Mexituras” to help bring awareness to Artisans in Mexico who make €1 for every hour worked.

Making the perfect festival 'play'list is an art. Our secret? Quay's in-house product designers—the people behind the statement-making sunnies and buzz worthy blue light glasses everyone will be wearing this festival season.
The design process starts by identifying key runway trend and deconstructing them for the Quay customer based on what they see on their feed, in stores, and on the streets.
Cyborg Chic is all about structural shapes that shout 'look at me now' while Vintage Oasis features softer, romantic lenses and lines that say something's in the air.
From trend-spotting and color forecasting to making mood boards and sketching, each pair is thoughtfully designed knowing they are an extension of expression that enhance the vibe. Festival looks are edgier, riskier—people are going there to be seen—so our range of styles is a little more extra.
Our focus this year was on electric neons, retro rounds, statement shields, and sunset lenses sure to take any festival outfit center stage. You'll be ready to face the music in new styles and extended colorways of fan favorites.
]]>Whether you’re looking to add a more everyday pair of sunnies to your wardrobe or you have a smaller face shape, you don’t always have to go big. That’s where our minis come in. QUAY carries versatile sunnies and glasses in a range of sizes so that you’ll always have the perfect fit.
Minis are the styles you know and love, like HARDWIRE, but sized down to flatter more face shapes and show off another side to your selfie. Plus, we carry micro sunglasses that fit even smaller faces.
Check out some of our fave mini styles in sunnies and blue light, and see if you can spot the difference.
It’s everyone’s cult fave (including one of Paris Hilton’s)—but mini. HIGH KEY MINI features all the werks from QUAY’s oversized aviator sunglasses: flat lenses, signature triangle notches, and adjustable nose pads. The mini comes in different colorways and is also available in the bestselling black fade finish and polarized versions.
HIGH KEY MINI isn’t the HIGH KEY line’s only small style. HIGH KEY MICRO (which has a 50mm height and 142mm width) is an even smaller fit for those with even smaller faces. They’re truly small frames, whereas HIGH KEY MINI is technically a medium frame when compared to the oversized OG.
And the cherry on top—HIGH KEY, HIGH KEY MINI, and HIGH KEY MICRO are available in prescription blue-light glasses and sunnies, so you can have your Rx put in.
Have you always wanted an aviator shape, but the size stops you from adding to cart? Try ALL IN to flex a stylish metal and PC injection frame. In addition to different sizes, ALL IN is available with polarized lenses. Plus, pick from colors such as brown, green, and black in smoke and fade finishes.
HARDWIRE is the same easy-to-wear, classic square shape that you love—just sized down in every way for a smaller face or just a smaller fit. On the flip side, our OG sizes are great for bigger faces or those who prefer a larger fit. To keep your vision on point, HARDWIRE is available as prescription blue-light glasses (including the mini) and sunglasses.
Going small never looked so good. Shop QUAY’s MINI Collection for the just-right fit — you can find your go-to’s in prescription, too.

Jodi + her daughters
Q/A has been a mark of the entrepreneursdomain brand for years. And it’s more than just our initials—it’s what we stand for. So, we’re checking in with some of the coolest people we know to walk a mile in their shades + get a fresh perspective on some of the topics we think are worth talking about.
This time around, we’re chatting with someone who inspires us daily. Meet Jodi Bricker, CEO of entrepreneursdomain. We’re lucky enough to soak up inspiration from her on the reg, and we want to send a little bit of that magic your way.
Who are you?
First and foremost—I am a mom of two teenaged daughters, and I live in the Bay Area. I’m originally from the Midwest, but I’ve been in California since college, and I’m a hybrid of both places. I grew up as a competitive athlete, so I love pushing myself and reaching for personal bests. And I am the CEO of Quay, which is quite possibly the most fun I’ve ever had at work, and I’m so grateful to be a part of the brand.
We love a boss, let’s talk more about that. What’s the most important thing that you do at work?
I set the vision, mission, and overall direction of Quay. I try to inspire our teams to create and deliver in a way that solves problems for our customers and makes them happy! My background is in product, branding, retail, and digital—but I spend most of my time with people. Listening to our customers in our stores and on social media, coaching the teams at Quay, and connecting the dots along the way. I work to create and maintain a culture and working environment at Quay that inspires everyone to become their best self and do their best work.
Quay team members
And where do you seek inspiration?
I find inspiration everywhere. Not just in eyewear, fashion, or retail—I see the world from a consumer perspective everywhere I look, and I always have my antennae up. I try as much as possible to be in different cities and environments observing people, patterns, and trends. LA and Miami are amazing for sunnies attitude and lifestyle inspiration. Merci in Paris is one of my favorite retail spots because it’s a hybrid store—part café, part vintage art installations, fashion, and home décor.
I’m currently obsessed with Glossier and Outdoor Voices—of-the-moment brands founded by women. I am also 100% drawn to the outdoors—my favorite places in the Bay Area are Stinson beach, Mt. Tam in Marin, Hayes Valley and the Mission neighborhoods in San Francisco, and local restaurants and shops in Berkeley and Oakland.
Stinson Beach—one of Jodi’s favorite places to soak up inspiration
What exactly do you like to read?
Anything involving a story and storytelling. Books, articles, news, and Twitter everyday to get mentally sparked and stay on top of what’s going on. I’m currently reading the book Sapiens…A Brief History of Humankind. I love documentaries and podcasts and am currently listening to “How I built this” on my commutes.
In general, I’m someone who’s really curious and interested in what people think, what people do, and how they behave. All of this informs how we think about our products at Quay and the role our brand can play in people’s lives.
Self-expression is such an important part of Quay’s brand identity. What does that mean to you?
Self-expression is having a certain sense of who you are at your core, and owning that, and being willing to be vulnerable with sharing that with the world. I also don’t believe there is a finish line in life. Humans are constantly evolving, so for me, self-expression and exploration are tools for accessing personal growth.
Self-expression can feel easier said than done sometimes. What piece of advice would you give to someone trying to manage beauty standards and expectations online while owning their self-expression?
l feel grateful that I’d already developed my sense of self and had my value system in place before social media blew up. While I think it can be an incredible source of inspiration, it can also be mean-spirited and cause anxiety. My advice would be to make sure that you aren’t letting social media be a part of forming your sense of self. Go form that on your own, use social media as an amplifier.
How do you continue to express yourself personally?
The biggest thing is pushing myself out of my comfort zone—trying new things and going to new places. It can be as small as wearing a bold pair of red glasses to turn up my outfit or much bigger—like trying fly fishing for the first time (I loved it) or taking a leap into a new job. I believe that every time we try something new and push the edge a little bit, we realize we have more depth, range, and ability than we give ourselves credit.
Expressing her selflie with different sunnies style
Do you consider yourself a role model, and how do you handle that responsibility?
I don’t wake up every day thinking, “I’m going to be a role model today,” but I’m conscious of the fact that many people in my life count on me to do the right thing and want to be inspired. I hold myself to high standards—particularly as it relates to my roles as a mom and a female leader.
It’s very important to me that I walk the talk for my daughters, so through that filter I ask myself—am I showing up as a kind person? As someone who is learning, evolving, taking risks, and being open minded and vulnerable? It’s a journey, and I am a constant work in progress.
We agree—you are a role model and a total boss. How do you balance your own self-care, being a mother, AND having such a big career?
I try to think about it more as a concept of flow vs balance. I find it’s easier when I integrate my work and life instead of strictly thinking in terms of balance, which feels like a relentless scorecard. Life is incredibly dynamic and always evolving. Some weeks, work requires more of my time, and other weeks, my family needs me, or I need to put myself first. I start with being clear on what’s important: my health and wellbeing, my kids, partner and family, friends, work, learning and growing, contributing to the world. With this in mind, I try to make work a holistic part of my entire life.
Jodi + her two daughters at high school graduation
We’ve talked a lot about education at Quay this year. What does it mean to you that Quay is giving back to our community with our Education is Quay scholarship program?
Having two teenagers and watching the process of getting into college compared to my experience growing up—it’s clear that education has become too exclusive and overwhelming, and that many people simply can’t get access to it. The ability to gain an education is an important part of our society, so I love that Quay can use our platform to help open that door up for a few more people while we figure this out as a larger society.
Can’t get enough? Check Jodi out on Instagram @jodi.bricker for inspiration, behind-the-scenes at Quay, and more.
Xo,
Quay
